Half-life profile
Caffeine half-life calculator
Estimate how much Caffeine remains in your body over time using a first-order elimination model. Values are approximate and should not replace lab testing or medical advice.
Pharmacokinetics at a glance
| Mean half-life | 5 hours |

Typical detection windows
Detection windows are approximate and depend on dose, frequency, metabolism, specimen cutoffs and lab methods.
| Matrix | Window |
|---|---|
| blood | Typically detectable for many hours after consumption; concentrations decline over roughly a day in most adults. |
| urine | Metabolites can be detectable for at least 1 day, depending on dose and kidney function. |
How this model treats Caffeine
The calculator uses a simple one-compartment model with first-order elimination. Every half-life, the remaining amount is halved. Real-world pharmacokinetics can be more complex (multi-compartment models, active metabolites, saturable metabolism).
