HalfLifeDB's Learning Center is a source-backed guide to the ideas behind the calculators: half-life, exponential decline, steady state, study design, and the many reasons a real pharmacokinetic paper can be more complicated than a neat curve. The aim is useful reporting, not sterile glossary writing.
Each article links directly to reputable sources such as FDA clinical pharmacology guidance, NCBI Bookshelf pharmacokinetics chapters, Merck Manual explainers, and primary source material where appropriate. The pages are educational, ad-supported, and intentionally separate from the substance profile pages where ads are not shown.
How to use the Learning Center
Start here when a profile gives you a half-life number and you want to know what kind of claim that number can support. The guides explain why half-life is not the same as duration, why repeated exposure changes the curve, and why two credible studies can report different values for the same substance.

What the Learning Center does not cover
HalfLifeDB does not estimate whether someone is impaired, whether a substance is safe to combine with another substance, or whether a laboratory test will be positive or negative. Those questions require clinical, toxicology, legal, or laboratory context that a simple educational model cannot supply.
Why this section exists
Half-life calculators are easy to build thinly. HalfLifeDB is trying to do something more useful: pair each calculator with source literacy, model limitations, and reader-friendly explanations that make the number harder to misuse. The Learning Center is the editorial backbone for that work.
